U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed his plan for the "takeover" of the Gaza Strip by the United States. He intends to do this without involving American military forces. Additionally, the American leader stated that, in this case, Palestinians would be relocated — he claims they would be moved to safer and more comfortable places for a happy life in security.
Trump shared this information on the social media platform Truth Social. The American president believes that Israel could hand over Gaza to the United States after the fighting concludes, allowing the U.S. to begin construction on "one of the most impressive projects on Earth."
"The Gaza Strip would be transferred from Israel to the United States after the fighting ends. Palestinians, such as Chuck Schumer, would already have been relocated to much safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes in the region. The U.S., working with wonderful development teams from around the world, would slowly and carefully begin construction on what would become one of the largest and most impressive projects of its kind on Earth. No American soldiers would be needed! Stability would prevail in the region!!!" - declared Trump.
By the way, Chuck Schumer is the Senate Minority Leader and a Democrat. Recently, he criticized Trump in a speech for "recklessness and lawlessness."
Furthermore, the Trump administration attempted to soften Trump's remarks and clarify the president's stance on Gaza. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on February 5 during a visit to Guatemala that Trump's comments about relocating Palestinians to Arab countries were not hostile. According to him, it was merely about supporting the "rebuilding of homes, businesses, and similar things so that people could return" to the Gaza Strip.
"I think it was a very generous step - the offer to rebuild and take responsibility for the restoration," - he added.
Recently, Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. During this meeting, the U.S. president announced that the United States would take control of the Gaza Strip. He proposed relocating Palestinians from there, possibly "to Jordan or Egypt." The entire Gaza Strip, the American leader suggested, should be demolished, "as it has become dangerous and uninhabitable."
As noted by AP, the meeting between Trump and Netanyahu lasted about 40 minutes. The U.S. president informed the Israeli prime minister that he plans to visit Israel and possibly take a trip to Gaza. Trump also does not rule out sending American troops to ensure security in Gaza. In response, Netanyahu referred to Trump as "Israel's greatest friend."
