Trump is no longer focused on Ukraine; he's preparing to take over Canada.

New political tensions have erupted around Canada following recent statements from Donald Trump, who once again raised the issue of the country potentially joining the United States. However, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau firmly dismissed this idea, stating that there is "no chance" of such a change occurring. According to Trudeau, the greatest benefits for both nations lie in their cooperation as key trading partners.

New political passions have ignited around Canada following recent statements from Donald Trump, who has once again raised the issue of the country joining the United States. However, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau firmly rejected this idea, stating that there is "no chance" of such a change. According to Trudeau's remarks, the greatest benefits for both countries lie in their cooperation as primary trading partners.

Trudeau expressed on his X account that Canada has no chance of becoming part of the United States.

"The residents of both our countries benefit from being each other's largest trading and security partners," the Prime Minister said.

At the same time, several odd comments from various individuals have sparked further discussions. One comedian expressed support for the idea of "invading Canada," adding even more absurdity to the situation. For instance, Fox News host Jesse Watters stated live on air that he has "a desire to invade Canada and quench his imperialistic thirst." He also added that "the neighbors of the United States should consider it a privilege to be accepted into the U.S."

"Canada — the fact that they don't want us to take them over makes me want to invade. I want to quench my imperialistic thirst," Jesse Watters declared on air.

However, the most provocative comment came from Elon Musk, who, in response to Trudeau's statement that Canada will not become part of the U.S., referred to the Prime Minister as a "girl." He separately added that Trudeau's words no longer matter, as he is no longer the Prime Minister of Canada.

"Girl, you are no longer the governor of Canada, so what you say doesn't matter," the businessman from Trump's team wrote in response to Trudeau's statements.

All of this creates a tense atmosphere around Canada, where discussions about the potential joining of the U.S. continue to be a hot topic in the media and social networks. It’s worth noting that Trump has once again been testing the waters, jokingly or seriously suggesting to his neighbor to become the 51st state of the U.S.

In his social media platform Truth Social, Trump published a map showing Canada marked as part of the U.S., labeling the country as the 51st state.

What is known about Trump's statements regarding the end of the war in Ukraine

At a press conference on January 7, Trump provided a more comprehensive answer regarding the timeline for ending the war in Ukraine. When asked if he could resolve the issue of the war in Ukraine within six months, theformer U.S. president initially agreed with that timeline but then stated that it would take much less time.

"I hope it will take me six months. No, I think… I hope, much earlier than six months," Trump was quoted by Reuters.

Additionally, the media reported that Trump is eager to initiate negotiations with Russia to end the war in Ukraine and wants talks to begin as soon as possible, as both Russia and Ukraine are losing many young people. According to the Republican, a meeting with Putin could take place after the inauguration, but no exact dates have been set yet.

It is important to note that Zelensky, in a recent interview with podcaster Lex Friedman, stated that a meeting with Putin, from Ukraine's perspective, should only occur after a joint meeting of Trump, Zelensky, and European representatives, where they would develop a common position to present to Moscow. At the same time, Zelensky surprised with his use of profanity during this interview. The President's swearing may indicate his uncertainty about the prospects, but at the same time, it is likely to resonate well with Lex Friedman's audience, experts suggest.
