This Christmas, Ukrainians yearn for peace in their homeland. However, the Russian leader Vladimir Putin opts to continue the war. This was mentioned in the festive address by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the President's website, the head of state reminded that this is already the third Christmas in the midst of a full-scale war, when many Ukrainians cannot celebrate it with their loved ones.

"Unfortunately, not all of us are at home. Sadly, not everyone has a home. And unfortunately, not all are with us. However, despite all the troubles that the enemy has brought, they have not succeeded in capturing or destroying the most important thing – our hearts, the light within us, the faith in good and kindness, the humanity within each of us," Zelensky emphasized.

The President highlighted that Ukrainians desire a peaceful life under their native sky, free from "Shaheds" and missiles. In contrast, someone from the "neighboring state" seeks "activity", which reflects their distance from God and true faith.

"All we need is to live peacefully on our land, see the sun, our sky, and in it – the Christmas star, not Iranian 'Shaheds' and Russian missiles. But some find it 'boring and lack excitement'. These words are proof of how far they are from God, from Christianity, from true faith. And this is evidence of why their captivity and darkness will lose. We know this. The world knows this. And God knows this. Evil will lose. Ukrainians believe in this and pray for it. So that all that evil and all that dirt disappear from our land forever. And Ukrainians certainly deserve this," Zelensky noted.

Putin and His Controversial Statements

It is worth noting that the Russian leader Vladimir Putin recently shocked with yet another provocative statement. During a live Q&A session, he claimed that Russians get "bored" when everything is calm, hence they "want excitement". He also proposed a duel with NATO using ballistic missiles on the territory of Kyiv. According to him, Russia is ready to strike with a medium-range missile "Oreshnik" at a designated location where Western air defense systems will be stationed.

On Christmas Eve, December 24, Russian forces launched a ballistic strike on a residential building in Kryvyi Rih. Nine victims have already been reported. Information about the casualties is being updated, and alarms continue in various regions of Ukraine.
