The construction of the metro in Vinogradar is one of the most anticipated projects in Kyiv, but its implementation has once again been delayed. Instead of using the budget funds allocated for construction, the contracting organization deposited the money, earning interest, which slowed down the process.

It turned out that the company that received the funds for the metro construction decided to temporarily "stash" the money in the bank and profited handsomely from it – the interest amounted to over 139 million hryvnias. Naturally, this violates the law, and the case went to court.
In October 2021, the prosecutor's office appealed to the Economic Court of Kyiv to recover this money for the city. Since then, the case has gone through several judicial instances, and finally, on October 21, 2024, the Northern Appeal Court issued a final ruling – the contractor must return the entire amount to the capital's budget.
