There is new information that the "Steel Border" brigade of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (GPSU) has a new commander. It is already known that Colonel Alexander Bilyuk has taken command. Reports suggest that Bilyuk was tried for extortion in 2016, yet he continued to serve in the State Border Guard Service.

Ukrainian blogger and volunteer Sternenko believes that the news regarding Bilyuk's corruption issues is not the worst part.

The blogger shared this on his Telegram channel.

According to the blogger, Bilyuk, immediately after being appointed as brigade commander, began to dismantle the brigade's operations. He is sending drone operators, cooks, and logistical support to the infantry. Due to his poor treatment of personnel, people are leaving for the reserve. Bilyuk is also obstructing the supply of drones to the brigade.

If this inadequate individual continues to command the "Steel Border," the brigade will be unable to carry out combat tasks in one of the most challenging areas.

"If the GPSU leadership does not see this problem, it is time for the Minister of Internal Affairs, who oversees the border service, to intervene," the blogger stated.

There is also information that Colonel Bilyuk physically attacked a subordinate in the presence of the personnel. The footage, which is already available online, dates back to 2023, when Bilyuk was the battalion commander. Instead of punishment, he received a promotion and became the brigade commander.
