The Verkhovna Rada has appointed Alexey Chernyshov as the Deputy Prime Minister and head of the new Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine. This decision did not go unnoticed, and veteran Oleg Simoroz quickly shared his thoughts on his X page.

SubscribeHe expresses his dissatisfaction for several reasons.
Firstly, Chernyshov does not have the cleanest reputation: he previously led "Naftogaz of Ukraine" and served as Minister of the Ministry of Regional Development. Chernyshov has been involved in corruption scandals multiple times. For instance, he was implicated in a bribery case involving the controversial developer Sergey Kopystira. This incident is related to the transfer of a plot for a residential complex when Chernyshov was in office as minister.
Although searches were planned at his premises, following his meeting with the head of NABU Semen Krivonos, the investigation, according to Simoroz, did not progress.

Experts believe that Chernyshov could be linked to major schemes involving the laundering of budget funds, particularly within the framework of "Big Construction." His loyalty to the president's office and Andrey Yermak only fuels doubts.
As for the new ministry, it was established by renaming the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories to the Ministry of National Unity. The main task is to work with Ukrainian migrants.
However, as Simoroz writes, to address this issue, it is unnecessary to create a new ministry; instead, the country’s internal policy, particularly the tax system, needs to be changed. Migrants who are currently running small businesses abroad could return if taxes were redistributed from oligarchs to fairer shares.
"And most importantly, the appointment of the corrupt Chernyshov to a ministry with such an ardent name is an affront to the state and its citizens…," concludes Simoroz.
