SubscribeThe matter at hand is that Sergey Tarasov, an agribusinessman from Kirovohrad region and the father of a member of parliament from the "Servant of the People" party, has hired an American lobbying firm to convey his perspective on Ukrainian corruption to the United States.
This became known thanks to information shared on the Telegram channel "Chorna Skrynya."
According to the publication's authors, Tarasov paid $54,000 for the lobbyists' services. Their task is to explain to American officials and journalists how "the Ukrainian government persecutes private business and fosters corruption."

Interestingly, his son, Oleg Tarasov, is a member of parliament from "Servant of the People" and is part of the agricultural committee of the Verkhovna Rada. It's hard to imagine a more fitting position if your father owns a large land bank.
