The leader of "European Solidarity," Petro Poroshenko, wore a €2500 jacket to a meeting with military personnel and diplomats, but he cut off the tag to conceal the price. Such an extremely expensive attire, which Poroshenko dons for meetings regarding assistance to Ukraine, seems quite inappropriate. This was reported by blogger Sergey Ivanov.

“At the meeting with military personnel and diplomats, Poroshenko sported a luxury jacket priced at €2500, with the tag removed to hide the cost. A few months ago, I caught Poroshenko wearing a shirt from the luxury brand Ralph Lauren Purple Label for €2250. His image consultants were a bit flustered, they shouted in the comments, but they realized the need to hide the cost of the clothes that Petro adorns his royal body with. Therefore, when the gray-haired politician recently met with Western politicians, who do not quite understand the post-Soviet oligarchs' affinity for heavy luxury, they prudently cut off the label from the Zilli jacket,” Ivanov writes.

Sergey Ivanov points out that Poroshenko's €2500 jacket is a product of the French brand Zilli, known for crafting garments from exclusive materials such as stingray leather, python, ostrich, crocodile, and fibers from paca, guanaco, vicuña, cashmere, and silk.

“On Zilli's official website, it is stated that this lightweight and elegant dark blue jacket with an officer's collar pairs well with sporty chic and is perfect for autumn. And indeed, Poroshenko has no shortage of sporty chic,” the blogger quips.

According to the blogger, considering that Poroshenko removed the tag from the jacket, he clearly did not want anyone to know its price.

“It is clear that Poroshenko is very reluctant to be accused of extravagance, meaning he has a basic understanding of the incompatibility of luxury with the grim reality. For instance, when you meet with military personnel and volunteers collecting for the front, it isn’t exactly ideal. However, often nature takes over. In reality, there is nothing wrong with wearing expensive clothing, as long as you’re not constantly lamenting about ‘ordinary people.’ And even if you are among the top three oligarchs in a warring country, you still need to be more modest,” Ivanov concludes.

As previously reported, in October, Poroshenko became richer by more than 1 billion hryvnias. Nearly 824 million UAH of this significant sum came from the so-called "blind trust." Over the years of the full-scale invasion, Poroshenko has risen from 12th to 3rd place among the wealthiest oligarchs, with only Akhmetov and Pinchuk wealthier than him.
