Путин предупреждал Трампа о вторжении в Украину: как отреагировал бывший президент США.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin shared his intentions to launch a full-scale attack on Ukraine with Donald Trump when the Republican was still President of the United States. Trump made this statement while speaking at an event in the city hall of Oaks. He confirmed his good relations with the Kremlin leader.

These remarks were reported by The Telegraph. According to Trump, the invasion of Ukraine would never have happened during his presidency.

“I get along very well with Putin… It was his eye's jewel, he talked about it (the attack on Ukraine – ed.), but I told him he wouldn’t go for it,” Trump emphasized.

In the view of the Republican presidential candidate, Putin only dared to engage in a major war because Joe Biden currently leads the White House. Trump also added that he has good relations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and stated he would put an end to the war in Eastern Europe before he is elected president.

“Biden has done nothing about it – he hasn’t even spoken to Putin in over a year. This is a war that needs to end, and I’m going to end this war... I will try to end this war if elected president. I want people to stop dying, that’s all,” the Republican added.

Relations Between Trump and Putin

Recently, excerpts from the book “Rage” by The Washington Post's deputy editor Bob Woodward surfaced online. In it, he wrote that Donald Trump secretly befriends the Russian ruler Vladimir Putin. Their relationship began to develop in 2020 – during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

Woodward stated that in 2020, when the U.S. faced a shortage of COVID tests, then-American President Donald Trump sent several tests to Vladimir Putin for personal use. Since then, their connection has persisted, and they even spoke on the phone this year.

Another American publication, The New York Times, released an article indicating that Vladimir Putin systematically and methodically influenced Donald Trump. The Russian leader began to seriously engage in comprehensive influence as early as 2017. Meanwhile, he skillfully appealed to the principles of the Monroe Doctrine, which was adapted by the 26th President Theodore Roosevelt to the situation in Latin America.
