The Democratic Party's presidential candidate in the U.S., Kamala Harris, warned that under Donald Trump's leadership, Putin would be "sitting in Kyiv." According to her, Trump has already claimed that he would resolve the conflict between Ukraine and Russia in just one day, which Harris believes is a dangerous signal.
During her speech on October 21 in Michigan, Harris emphasized that Trump's words indicate a willingness to force Ukraine to surrender to the aggressor. The Vice President urged voters to understand what is happening and to be aware of the threats that could arise if Trump were elected president. This was reported by CNN.
"He said, Donald Trump, that he would resolve the issue between Ukraine and Russia in a day. Understand what he means. He is ready to surrender," Kamala Harris stated.
Harris also highlighted the dangers of Ukraine capitulating to Russia and reminded about the consequences for the U.S. on the international stage if Trump were to make such a decision.
"Trump would force Ukraine to capitulate to the aggressor, which violates its sovereignty. If he were to become president, Putin would be sitting in Kyiv. Understand what this means for America and our global standing," Harris added during her speech.

Trump and Putin Relations
Recently, the deputy editor of The Washington Post wrote a book stating that Trump and Putin began to develop their personal relationship during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The author claimed that in 2020, when the U.S. faced a shortage of COVID tests, President Donald Trump sent several tests to Vladimir Putin for personal use. The Russian dictator accepted the "gift" but warned Trump not to disclose information about their connection.
Trump's campaign representative, Steve Cheng, stated that these stories are allegedly fabricated. However, an unnamed Republican aide mentioned in the book claims that Trump communicated with Putin at least seven times after leaving the White House in 2021.
Furthermore, The New York Times notes that Donald Trump's views on Ukraine may have been significantly shaped by Putin. Journalists explain that Putin portrayed Ukraine to Trump as a state with a very high level of corruption. This complex influence on Trump began as early as 2017.
However, recently Trump stated in an interview that he threatened the Russian president with striking the very center of Moscow if he continued his aggression in Ukraine. It is noted that this conversation took place while Trump was still in office as the American president.
