According to media reports, the Chinese ambassador to the U.S. and his wife are expected to attend the ceremony. Other Chinese diplomats and high-ranking officials may also be present, but not Xi Jinping, whom Trump personally invited.

This was reported by CBS News. The publication spoke with two sources who are familiar with the Chinese leader's plans.

The Chinese ambassador to the U.S. and his wife are expected to attend the event on January 20. Additionally, the publication's sources indicated that more officials from Beijing might join them.

On the morning of December 13, the newly elected U.S. president positively assessed relations with China during a CBS News broadcast. He stated that he has a good relationship with Xi Jinping. World leaders line up to attend Trump's inauguration

Newly elected U.S. president Donald Trump invited Chinese leader Xi Jinping to his inauguration on January 20, 2025, back in November. This occurred against the backdrop of Trump's desire to significantly raise tariffs on Chinese imports.

The Chinese embassy in Washington did not deny that Xi Jinping was invited to the inauguration. Meanwhile, the Trump administration is preparing to welcome world leaders at the Capitol, although Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who has good relations with Trump, has yet to confirm his attendance.

Trump's spokesperson Caroline Levitt reported significant interest from world leaders in the inauguration. According to her, they are "lining up" to meet with Trump as he is set to return to power soon.
