In Ukraine, it has long been common for the children of politicians to receive education abroad. And Volodymyr Horkovenko, a deputy of the Kyiv Regional Council from "European Solidarity", is no exception. His son Nazar is studying at the prestigious Bayes Business School in London, as revealed by his account on LinkedIn.

SubscribeStudying at this elite institution comes with a hefty price tag – £47,000 for three years (around 2.5 million UAH), plus approximately £15,000 (around 800,000 UAH) for accommodation and other expenses. In total, the Horkovenko family spends over £92,000, which amounts to more than 4.1 million UAH.
This is reported by Informer.

The question of where the deputy acquired such funds remains unanswered. According to his declaration, after working in Poroshenko's administration, he did not have a stable income, and in 2022 he did not earn a single penny. During this time, his family apparently lived off his wife's earnings.

In London, he seems to have taken an interest in more than just studying. The deputy's son registered a company named KYIV420 LTD, which raises some eyebrows. In slang, "420" is associated with marijuana, and his business was involved in selling t-shirts with prints that directly or indirectly reference drugs.
For instance, one of the t-shirts depicts the coat of arms of Kyiv with a marijuana leaf instead of chestnuts.

Although Nazar's business did not fare well and the company was soon shut down, the website remains operational. Interestingly, there is another site with the same name that essentially sells drugs. Both websites were created in 2023, just two months apart.
Are they connected? This question should be answered by law enforcement agencies. However, it is already clear that the deputy's son is shaping the image of his country abroad in a manner that his constituents might not expect.
