В МИД Украины заявили, что заранее не были осведомлены о разговоре Трампа с Путиным.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to the phone conversation that took place between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. The ministry stated that they were not informed in advance about the call, and that the circulating information is false.

This was stated in a comment to Reuters by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Georgiy Tikhiy, on November 11. He emphasized that the phone conversation between the presidents of the USA and Russia was only learned about in Kyiv after the release of the article by The Washington Post. Furthermore, no representatives from either side had warned them about it.

"Reports that the Ukrainian side was informed in advance about the supposed call are incorrect," Tikhiy said.

The spokesman added that Ukraine could neither approve nor oppose the call since they were unaware of it.

What Trump and Putin Discussed

It became known on November 10 that the newly elected US President Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Washington Post reported on the event. According to their information, they discussed the war in Ukraine, with Trump allegedly asking Putin not to escalate the hostilities.

The Washington Post emphasized that the Ukrainian authorities were informed about this call from Putin to Trump and did not deny it. It is noted that Ukrainian politicians have long understood that the Republican would engage with Putin to diplomatically establish peace in Ukraine. However, this turned out to be false.

Overall, the Kremlin expects Trump's presidency to be a gift for them, and they even see the first "positive signs". As the Republican does not mention that a strategic defeat for the Russian Federation must occur, the focus is on a long-term peace that should be achieved through certain agreements.

It is worth noting that earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the USA might soon announce the date for the cessation of hostilities between Ukraine and Russia. At the same time, Washington is supposedly set to announce a demarcation line and security guarantees for Ukraine. However, later the Foreign Ministry refuted this information, reminding that no negotiations or decisions regarding the war in Ukraine can be made without official Kyiv's consent.

Additionally, Czech President Petr Pavel is convinced that newly elected US President Donald Trump will attempt to negotiate with Putin regarding the end of the war in Ukraine. In his opinion, such an agreement would not be favorable for Kyiv, which could lose part of its territories.
