Journalists uncovered how former Energy Minister Plachkov is making millions during the war.

Former Energy Minister Plachkov continues to profit from "energy topics" through the LLC "RESEARCH CENTER: ENERGY AND POLICY," which is headed by the controversial energy expert Alexander Kharchenko. The center reported an income of over 5.3 million UAH for 2023, as stated in the Register of Legal Entities. photo All articles The income details of Kharchenko's research center are not disclosed.

At the same time, at least 1.7 million UAH was received by the "energy researchers" from the state budget. Specifically, this refers to a tender from the Energy Company of Ukraine (ECU) for "informational services."

Interestingly, the existence of the "Research Center: Energy and Policy," which is co-owned and managed by the aforementioned Alexander Kharchenko, actually traces back to a former high-ranking Ukrainian official – ex-Minister of Energy Ivan Plachkov.

In particular, Kharchenko's research center is the founder of the Public Union "ALL-UKRAINIAN ENERGY ASSEMBLY" (VEA), which is chaired by ex-energy minister Ivan Plachkov. Additionally, a co-founder of this Assembly is LLC "EDITING OF THE PUBLICATION 'ENERGY: HISTORY, MODERNITY, FUTURE'," which is 100% owned again by the former official Ivan Plachkov. The latter is known for owning today several energy companies, such as LLC "TEPLOENERGOSERVICE" and LLC "PROMGAZINVEST," which earn profits from electricity distribution as intermediaries.

It can be assumed that the pool of organizations affiliated with Plachkov, which today are conducting entire media campaigns in Ukrainian media, is working, in particular, for his private business interests.
