Fatal car accident in Dnipro: A 19-year-old suspect has been transferred to a detention center in Kyiv.

The detention location of the suspect has been changed due to the transfer of the investigation into this case to the Main Investigative Department of the National Police. Recall that on December 1 in Dnipro, the driver of a BMW collided with a Ford that was making a U-turn. As a result of the accident, a 10-year-old passenger in the Ford lost her life, and three other individuals sustained injuries.

Currently, investigators from the Main Investigative Department of the National Police have conducted a significant number of investigative actions, including:

interrogating over 100 individuals as witnesses, including those who witnessed the traffic accident;
appointing more than 30 forensic examinations;
examining physical evidence and mobile phones of the 19-year-old suspect and the 17-year-old witness, as well as video materials collected along the route of the BMW on the day of the traffic accident.

A separate investigative experiment was conducted, during which the trajectory and timing of the Ford vehicle's movement before the traffic accident were established, as well as its position on the roadway in relation to road elements and the BMW vehicle.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The perpetrator of the fatal traffic accident faces up to eight years of imprisonment, while the passenger of the car, for failing to assist the victims, faces up to five years of imprisonment.
